Beverly: Powered Beauty

Beverly: Powered Beauty

Power meets subtlety

History of 20 years of the Beverly scooter now upgraded with the capability of complete urban transportation and the looks of Gran Turismo

Contrary to a popular belief that sports bikes are inherently cruiser bikes, Piaggio has successfully created a bridge between the two types of vehicles by developing the Beverly 400.

Piaggio once again proved its lineage with its niche hybrid of style and leviathan powers and a competitive mileage to put any competition in the market tilt their head in disbelief.

Inspired by the legendary Beverly scooters and the Gran Turismo video games, the Beverly 400 is the perfect example of when imagination meets practicality.

Amalgamation of Gaming and riding

The most unique thing to the Beverly is the amount of dedication and research the designers and engineers have put into the scooter that it while providing the looks and aerodynamics of the Gran Turismo with an increase of 17% in power from the previous models equipped with parking sensor, keyless ignition along with unlocking the seat, opening the fuel door, and releasing the steering lock without even taking the keys out.

The other noteworthy feature it boasts of is a glove box on the inner leg shield that is equipped with a USB port so you are always ready and charged on the go.

Silently violent

The main USP of the Beverly 400 is its sheer subtle monstrosity. It uses Piaggio’s latest engine of 400cc liquid cooled single cylinder with 35horse power. It uses a CVT means there’s no need to worry about a clutch or shifting gears while riding within the city limits. While the earlier models used the Piaggio’s water-cooled L.E.A.D.E.R. engine, Beverly 400 uses electronic injection system that is the carburetor has been removed, thus making the engine lighter and low maintenance and reduced noise.

A big plus point for scooters in general is their fuel efficiency. But the Beverly being a cross of sport and cruiser, fuel economy though not bad is at 68 miles per gallon or 29 kms per liter.

Omnipresence on the road

The Beverly 400 is equipped with Mitas TOURING FORCE-SC 120/70 -16 front and 150/70 -14 rear tires which is especially designed for extreme grip in all weather conditions. They also comes equipped with single disc brakes of 240mm and 300mm on both the tires along with ABS which ensures no slippage on wet and climbing roads.

The Beverly 400 comes in 3-colors, matt Nero Tempesta black/ Argento Cometa silver and Aranco sunset and with a LCD screen of 5.5 inches with in-built voice commands, the scoter always stands out.

Untainted style of muscle and brain

The Beverly has soft single-seat saddle that helps ride out the bumps that the scooter’s suspension quite manages with, and also due to the solid build quality, there is negligible amount vibration that makes its way up through the seat, handlebar, and footboard. One can easily ride hundreds of city miles on one of these, and also with their sporty friends for fun.

Though the Beverly packs a significant pricing, but considering the pedigree, goodwill and specifications of the Piaggio brand the price though is hefty but a good investment on my opinion. It is a mechanical beast that’s a perfect blend of muscular looks and performance and every motor admirer out there must look into this beast and can seriously consider purchasing one.
