1084cc parallel twin engine
The parallel-twin engine delivers torque everywhere from idle to redline. You have more grunt down low, and can cruise easily on the open road. The narrow layout makes the bike shorter front-to-back. That means the front wheel can tuck in closer to the engine, shortening wheelbase and making the bike more nimble both on and off road.
Cornering ABS
All Africa Twin models offer cornering ABS with two modes: on-road and off-road. A third setting lets you turn the rear ABS off altogether for riding in the dirt.
Cruise control
The Africa Twin is as much at home on the open road as it is on the dirt. For that extra comfort when touring, cruise control is standard, so you can just relax and enjoy the view.
Riding modes
There are four default riding mode settings: TOUR, URBAN, GRAVEL and OFF-ROAD to cover most riding conditions and situations, plus two customisable USER settings.
Each mode has pre-set power, engine braking and ABS parameters.
In all modes (both default and user) the levels of Honda Selectable Torque Control and wheelie control can be adjusted to rider preference.
Long travel suspension
Front suspension is made of fully adjustable Showa 45mm inverted forks with 204mm axle travel.
The Pro-Link® rear suspension has 220mm of travel, and is also fully adjustable, including a convenient remote preload adjuster.
This combination gives you real comfort on road, and serious capability off-road.
Honda Selectable Torque Control
With Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) you can dial in exactly the kind of power delivery you want for the conditions at hand.
It features seven different settings (and can also be turned off) for a wide range of conditions, from pavement to fast, loose dirt roads to the most challenging trails.
Semi double cradle frame
The semi-double-cradle frame layout has been proven in countless Honda off-road bikes. The design is similar to the one used on the CRF450R Rally bike, a machine that’s designed to perform in the most challenging conditions.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Apple’s CarPlay™*1 seamlessly integrates your iPhone®*1 into your new Africa Twin. That means you can use your iPhone® to access Apple Maps®, Apple Music®, and other services easily.
You can also connect an Android phone using Android Auto. That means you can access Google Assistant, use navigation tools like Google Maps, Waze, and more.
Plus, with both systems, you’ll have access to weather, playlists, music-streaming services and telephone numbers.

Cornering lights
Dual sets of LED lights feature three-stage cornering function that automatically adjust the field of illumination depending on the lean angle, giving you optimum visibility and improving safety.
Large adjustable screen
The five-position windscreen offers excellent wind and weather protection, and lets you set your bike up for off-road sections or long highway rides. Great for both taller and shorter riders.
Electronically controlled suspension
The Africa Twin Adventure Sports DCT ES model features standard Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment™ (Showa EERA™), that tailors damping force front and rear, and spring preload to suit load and riding conditions.
There are 4 settings: SOFT, HARD, MID and OFF-ROAD.
Rear spring preload can be electronically adjusted while stationary, through 4 default settings: (1) riding solo, (2) riding solo with luggage, (3) riding two-up and (4) riding two-up with luggage.
A USER option allows for fine-tuning of damping force front and rear and 24 points of rear spring preload.
Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)
The DCT delivers consistent, fast and seamless gear changes, with 3 modes of operation available. "MT" gives full manual control, allowing the rider to shift at will. Automatic "D" is ideal for city and highway riding. Automatic "S" offers 3 levels of sportier riding, as the engine revs a little higher before shifting up, and shifts down sooner when decelerating for extra engine braking.
DCT’s off-road functionality is enhanced by the "G" switch, that when activated improves the feel for available traction and machine control by reducing the amount of clutch slip during gear changes.
Large fuel tank
The Adventure Sports models have a super sized 24.8L fuel tank, enough for all kinds of adventures and all the roads that lead to them
Heated grips
Heated grips are standard so you can keep riding all year round, whenever you want, and wherever you want, no matter the conditions.
